Who are you?

Why filmmaking?

I don’t consider myself to be a filmmaker, I do work with video though.

Your work is about...

Bowhunting is my extreme sports video.

Financing your movie?

Since I have my own equipment my videos are so cheap to make that I don’t see the point in looking for external funding. Besides working hours the material costs of Bowhunting have been around € 3, 50.

New Media; a challenge for film makers?

The fact that prices of equipment have dropped so much makes it a lot easier to get equipment, the biggest advantage though I think is that it makes distributing your work incredibly simple!

What are the potentials of the new media?

Again the distribution potential, it is such a great tool to see new work and meet other artists.

Influences?

George & Mike Kuchar, the legendary kings of no-budget films. I have had the opportunity to take a Kuchar class and it’s the best thing you can do as an art student. Also read their biography ‘Reflections from a cinematic cesspool’, very hard to find but very much worth it!!!

Individual film making or co-operation?

I mostly work on my own, sometimes that means I use video other times that I don’t. The idea dictates the media I use.

Digital or classic?

I’ll use anything I can get my hands on.
