LazyMarie - 1st edition 2006
LazyMarie foundation for audio visual art in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Their goal is to promote developments of audio visual art in general and stimulate in particular beginning filmmakers and artists by opportunities for producing new audio visual art, and the presenation thereof.
The famous LazyMarie film | video screenings show latest developments and pioneering shorts, experimentals and video art works from Dutch young artists.
In this Festival guest-program LazyMarie selected a-best-of from the last 10 years which were shown in their programs; Zwelgfilmavond (1995-1998), Circus Maximus (1999-2002) en Cinematiek (2003-2006).
BLOX started off as an experiment. It’s about movement, composition, colours, nature and animation. The main object was to combine nature and machine. This is done by creating an image of nature that can only be made with a machine. Namely; the computer.
The video is about the rigid school system in Japan, where kids have to work literally until they drop.
It was originally a sketch, but the outcome was more then the finished work could ever be.
