Discussing the Dutch subsidizing policy.. Streaming Festival 1st edition

The Streaming Festival offers a number of special features among which a program to encourage a discussion about the Dutch subsidizing policy. Especially for this program Frans Bromet made five short documentaries about filmmakers whose project was rejected by a broadcasting corporation or subsidizer. Rightly or wrongly?

You can join the discussion at the forum. Following the Bromet-documentaries is a hilarious pilot episode of Respect! A televion comedy about the trendy-isation of the Amsterdam based quarter The Pijp. By lack of funding all the episodes of Respect! still only exist on paper. Immediately after Respect! we will broadcast Monddood (Gagged), a protest film by Jan Wouter van Reijen. The film is about Dutch subsidizing policy. The program is continued by three films from the Fris! project of the association of new film- and television makers NFTVM External Link.

Through Fris! the NFTVM wanted to enable young filmmakers to build up a portfolio that can pave their way to the funding of future projects. At the forum you can give your opinion about the Dutch subsidizing policy and/or the rejected projects.

You can read about their project "Project voor de afgewezen film" (Project for the rejected film) in detail on their site: www.bromet.nl External Link
