In this work I deconstruct and re-assemble a sequence of the classical Hollywood cinema (Hawks’s "The Big Sleep") into an humorous and obsessive repetition. The re-mix of Max Steiner’s original soundtrack transforms the classical repetiton of the theme into a loop that underlines an absurd situation.

"971 horses + 4 zebras" consists of various images of horses appropriated from the Internet, sequenced to create a galloping motion. Modelled after Eadweard Muybridge’s "The Horse in Motion" (1878), the work suggests the ambiguity of visual perception, as we vacillate between knowing that there are multiple horses and perceiving that there is only one.
