Ashley Pigford - Providence

This video simply titled, "Providence", presents the viewer with the rhythm of my footsteps as I traverse the urban landscape of Providence, Rhode Island. The relationship between public and private spheres are explored as the viewers attention broadens from watching the character, (personal space), to becoming more aware to the various spaces he encounters, (public spaces). As the video moves through time, and the character moves through space, the rhythm of the footsteps becomes a visual soundtrack to the experience of a post-industrial landscape.
