Streaming Festival 6th edition 1 to 18 December 2011

Video art, Sound art and 2Dimensional art

The Streaming Festival is a non-profit project created to encourage the understanding of audio-visual art. Naturally, the artists’ viewpoints differ from one another, whether in their subjects or in the way they created their work. This edition aims to show a sample of that diverse contemporary videoculture while stressing the all-time significance of artistic development.

In addition to the many videos on display, the 6th edition premièred a whole new direction with the Sound and 2D programs.

She shot pretty nice windmills 11 - 23 December in Milan - Italy

Finally, when we close the curtains of the 5th edition on the 11th of December, you can view the She shot pretty nice windmills program.
The program is a research in diversity represented by six women from the Netherlands each with their own distinctive style. Besides working with video, they use a wide range of media to express their artistic concepts. The possibilities offered by their cross-media approaches reflect in these works, and the borders between moving images and stills fade.

[.BOX] Open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 18.30 to 20.30. Via Confalonieri 11 20124 Milano - Italy

Streaming Stills

Besides showing audio visual art, we also hosted an exhibition Streaming Stills in the BH139 gallery - The Hague, the Netherlands.

Amongst the 9 photographers there were 100+ stills projected in the gallery as well.
These stills were uploaded through the Streaming Festival website. You can view a slideshow of the stills or view the photographs on www.insertshot.org

Student films

We schemed a little pilot project together that focused on the screening of films from students which were reviewed by teachers.
This project had films from the Wimbledon college of art, University of Texas, NYU Tisch School of the Arts and more.
But also from our very own Streaming Festival regulars: Robin Whenary, Mark Zuniga, and newcomer Matthieu Cherubini.

The Student Edition is a platform for college level Art students (undergraduate and graduate) to exhibit, prepare, speak out and receive feedback for their works that examine the medium of video and experimental film.
The Student edition was broadcasted one week before the Streaming Festival from 13 to 19 November.
