Why isn’t the festival broadcasting all year round?
The Streaming Festival is foremost a platform for audio visual art, which carefully selects quality films and combines those with high quality streaming technologies. The film selection is thorough and the criteria are above average with the limited amount of screening time. With one edition per year the festival can select from numerous submissions and achieve that high standard.
New technologies and possibilities make each Streaming Festival edition different from the previous one. To control these differences in separate editions allows the festival to expand and adjust precisely and efficiently while keeping the festivals concept intact.
Furthermore, the goal is to stimulate and broaden the understanding of audio visual art. The editions being separated from each other, the films, partners and artists become art archives related to their edition date.
This makes it possible to compare differences and follow developments after every edition.
However, the festival started broadcasting special programs since May 2009. Each month there will be a new program broadcasted online.
