Indie-kids of the world unite - a truly inspirational film festival championing the unsubsidised world of independent film has arrived - and you can watch it from home!
The Streaming Festival begins on the 12 May and the featured flicks can be viewed on six different websites.
This three day extravaganza organised by the ISFTH Foundation features movies from directors who create film without the aid of subsidy and its aim is to get more and more independent films out to the public via new media.

NRC Next
Tussen 1 en 5 december vindt de vijfde editie plaats van het Streaming Festival, te bekijken op www.streamingfestival.com. De openingsavond is op 1 december in het café van het Paard van Troje in Den Haag. Dan wordt een selectie van de films getoond en reikt een jury twee prijzen uit voor twee films uit de competitie. Op dezelfde dag is er ook een opening in Milaan, georganiseerd in samenwerking met de Italiaanse audiovisuele organisatie VisualContainer.

Submarine Channel
The world’s first film festival to take place exclusively online, the Streaming Festival has taken giant steps since SubmarineChannel collaborated with them for their first edition back in 2006.
In a technological feat that will baffle even seasoned databassists, the festival streams 190 films by over 100 artists arranged into 14 prêt-à-regarder program streams, from Opera – exchanges between Chinese and Dutch video artists - to Screen Control, which presents projects that break new ground in image manipulation techniques.
The event runs for 3 days only, harking back to a more traditional film festival concept, but with the obvious democratizing benefits of a huge and global Audience Without Borders. The combination of carefully curated films and high-end streaming technology, allows multiple users to plug in and simultaneously enjoy this unique virtual get-together.

The digital festival Streaming opened its doors on the web and IRL in the Hague and Milan. For its sixth edition, the festival remains faithful to its concerns of the beginnings by offering a very large sample of contemporary video, and since this year of sound and still images with a focus on Internet broadcasting.
