During the opening on the 1st of December in The Hague, one of the artists that were screened (Evo Preisner), was attentive enough to bring his camera, and film an impression of the opening, resulting in a six-minute clip with mixed images and added sound.

Now officially open: the 6th edition of the Streaming Festival!
This year’s edition features about 300 video works of art, including sound art and 2dimensional works. The 6th edition is available until 18th December.

Big news! The Streaming Festival programs of the 6th edition are finally available and their content can now be checked on our website. Over 200 films and video artists have been carefully selected and arranged into 18 different programs, ranging from documentaries to experimental works, as well as animations, installations and many more.

Good news for the people living near and in The Hague! On the 1st of December, starting at 20.30, we will open the 6th edition of the Streaming Festival at Het Nutshuis.

You probably noticed that the For a change program is still live and running. We have decided to extend the program for a little more than usual. Because we’re enjoying a good program (obviously), but also because on the 10th of November we will start with the interlude to the 6th edition by showing previews & trailers which will be shown at the festival starting on the 1st of December.

The title ‘About the human condition’ is a quotation from an essay by Magnus af Petersens on video artist Keren Cytter whose work is a an inspiration for this project and my own practice. It looks at the complicated concept of human nature –those cliché yet inevitable notions of love, trust, betrayal, and moral choice and exploring them through the cinematic medium. These works are touching and intimate, unsettling yet accessible.

This year we’re doing things slightly differently. Instead of exclusively screening films, there’ll also be showcases for 2d art, flash and an audio program. Moreover, we’ve decided to open the call for online submissions again. So, no more need for post and stamps. Just place a link to your preview, and that’s that.
