The Vrije Academie in The Hague will host the opening of the festival on 12 May 2006.
This academy started in 1947 when it was initiated by artist Livinus van de Bundt. Back then, aswell as now they strive for innovation through a continuous experimenting approach to art.

Frans Zwartjes, acclaimed Dutch experimental filmmaker headed the academie during 1983-1988, inspiring video and film artists alike from The Hague to China.
The opening will be live broadcasted on a streaming server.
