From these experiments the animations occured. His animation Last train ride was featured in our first edition of the festival in 2006. Generative X
Generative X
The term generative art does not describe any art-movement . It's a method of making art. The term refers to how the art is made and does not take into account why it was made or what the content of the artwork is.
Generative art is now used to software-releated art works, but one of the first was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Musikalisches Wurfelspiel (Musical Dice Game) in 1757, what was an early example of a generative system based on randomness. Generative artists such as Hans Haacke have explored processes of physical and biological systems in artistic context.

Analog ready-made for digital redeem-aid
What happens if we resort to the dear, familiar objects of old in our current time of de-materialization and virtual living? What is the result if we set up narrations and investigations into pixel-mediated sceneries starting from our day-to-day interactions with ordinary things?

Jasper Scheepbouwer

Jasper Scheepbouwer
This month we exhibit some of Jasper Scheepbouwers' films. The oldest one was made 13 years ago Herrie (Noise). A visual stunt into filmmaking with marvellous animation techniques. Besides the animation, pay attention to the editing as well. And for the record: the Matrix appeared three years later.

One Take Film Festival

One Take Film Festival
The One Take Film Festival is an international festival of films shot in one take, that is films shot without interruption, from the moment of turning the camera on to the moment of turning the camera off. The One Take Film Festival eliminates a seemingly indispensable part of a film - namely, editing - and thus prohibits cut, dissolve, fade in/out and all other types of transitions.

Between the frames

Between the frames
Through fascinating imagery, wicked editing and luring sounddesign these films dare the viewer to listen and watch.
Films that stand apart and stand on themselves where you can find meaning from within, from the impressions left behind after the last fade out. The artists signature lies between the frames.
