SUPERHERO (2007-2009)
The Superhero spread out his energy in self-portraits, performances, workshops,
public interventions and in writing his blog (http://www.the-superhero.blogspot.com).
Every step in his life is published there and able for people all around the world
to follow his life.
The pictures are showing steps of his 2 years life:
him hitchhiking in his silver costum to Finland and meeting the Messianic Research
Centre for Visual Ethics there, his beamed move to Berlin and his first impressions.
Researching the dead sea and workshops for children ‘How to become a Superhero’
in Amman/Jordan.
In Brighton he runs with 800 others the Heroes Run for Africa.
Finally Hoorn, where he visit a street party for kids and a school, where he gives
a workshop for eager yound children who became Superheroes.
JOHNNY AMORE
Johnny Amore is an artificial figure, a total work of art. He is constantly realizing different ideas and techniques and combines several elements: Photography, Live-Performance, Video and other media. He was born in Munich, Germany in 1973 and studied Photography at the State Academy in Munich (2000). He works and lives in Berlin.
For 10 years he is working on the project ‘1000 Faces of Underground’, Self-Portraits photographs he had always taken by himself. Johnny Amore is researching, analysing and reflecting forms of identities and social roles. Out of this project he developed the figure ‘Superhero’. Since then the Superhero explored and helped in Germany, Finland, Jordan, Spain and the Netherlands.
Johnny has held solo exhibitions in Germany, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland and Estonia, and took part in several group exhibitions in Europe. He got different grants and residencies and his movies were shown in several festivals.
He has also given Photography Workshops in Germany and Finland and ‘How to become a Superhero’ in Jordan and Netherlands.
For Live-Performances he works intensively together with the finnish perfomancegroup MRCVE.
