Napaku
Piet van den Heuvel (1935 - 20 may 2004)
Piet van den Heuvel was an artist from The Hague, the Netherlands. He is probably best known for his graffiti art in The Hague under the pseudonym: Napaku. He wrote this name at the strangest places in and around The Hague, for more than 15 years. His street art brought him critical acclaim and obviously the occasional visit to the police station.
Besides being an enfant terrible he also created a wide range of more accessible artworks like; collages, airplane models, drawings, photography, animation and paintings.
Napaku died of a heart attack while painting in may 2004, but literally left an influential cultural heritage throughout the city of The Hague.
The Isfth foundation organized the Napaku reloaded exhibition in September 2005.
This multimedia exhibition by several artists from The Hague was a tribute to artist Napaku.
