Who is Pascal Savard?
I’m the french director of the film "Postaction"
I am working since few yers ago as a tv’editor
What is Postaction about?
"Postaction" is my first film
How did you start with film? And do you have an educational background in art or film?
I have several years of experience as regisseur, editor, but this is my first movie. The film has reached 45 selections
I am currently preparing the second and I hope that it will be a beautiful career
Could you explain how you work, what themes or concepts you use and what is important to you?
I work a lot only by lack of financial means. But I’m lucky to have met a great team and a people ready to invest around me to advance this project, but also the futures projects.
My themes and methods are many and varied, because I do not want to be pigeonholed. I think I can treat all the topics that interest me and especially to the movies I want to see
How long do you usually work on one project?
I work concretely 5 or 6 months on a project
Do you carefully plan the production process or do you work more intuitive?
It never prepared enough and I make an effort to prepare every time a little better than the previous time
How does the title relate to the work, and how do you find a fitting title?
Lol
On this film, concretely, I just wanted a catchy title and I confess to having a hard time for justify it
Where do you get your ideas or inspiration from?
I find my inspiration in life everyday and news
How important is sound in film, and if you use sounds, do you create your own or use existing?
The sound is a very important element of a film. We made a huge sound design work on this film
How does content relate to the form of your work?
The subject is comic and tragic at the same time, and also serious. So we needed to find some image quality but keeping a certain darkness. I think we achieved our goal in part. For a first film, by the lack of resources, i think that is acceptable. This will be the second best yet
What possibilities of the web are yet to be explored?
The web can provide a term and I hope to connect more competant professionals and can reach a public that did not always taken into account by the standard distributors
Did the web changed your view on art, or your career?
Unfortunately not enough. Currently the Web ensures that we can broadcast the film in various festivals
Where would you place your work; cinema or art. And what is the difference between those according to you?
Cinema is an art ... I consider myself totally artist directing films
How influential is the reaction to your film by the audience?
It is very important for me to understand the reactions.
This allows me to understand if the film is easily understandable.
Obviously, it is important to put good and bad reviews, because nothing can please everyone
What is your next project about?
The project I am about to turn is called "a secret is told in the rain." (un secret se dit sous la pluie)
It will be my second film and the last shot in Francais.
I’ll probably turned the third fast enough in English this time
I waited too long between filming the first 2
