Who is Dragana Zarevska?
Dragana is 1.55 cm girl obsessed with Macedonian folklore and Macedonian traditional songs.
Finished film studies at NBU in Bulgaria in 2007, now attending MA at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical researches in Skopje, Macedonia.
Your film is about?
My film The Mother is a one minute story made upon the namesake short story by the Macedonian
Writer Todor Jovcevski. It says that the mother is present in her child’s life even when she is not.
Could you explain how you work, what themes or concepts and what is important to you?
I like rough documentary style.
How did the film come about? Everything (carefully) planned or more intuitive?
I read this story when I was 7-8 years old. Someone gave me this book by T.Jovcevski as a present. I waited to grow up, and to call him for permission for making a movie out of this.
New Media; a challenge for film makers?
New Media has many meanings. My answer is YES only if this question doesn’t allude on stupid pretentious video-art without narrative structure. The New Media phrase is condemned as much as it’s blessed.
