If you are reading this, it means you have found or stumbled upon extremely rare footage of something very wonderful.

The footage is from an event captured live on my computer at The Lighthouse from Livestream.com. I believe it to be of a secret ritual performed at sun down on the Winter Solstice, 2010 by the mysterious character named ’Solomon Wild.’
To my knowledge this is the first time he has ever appeared on film. I do not know who shot and streamed it, apart from the Live stream account name ’Wildcornerz ’ and that it had 6 other viewers.
Very little is know about who Solomon is,.. or even if that is really his name or was given him. All I really know of him is what he does. He seems to be an explorer and mapper of London wild corners and cracks. He makes notes, takes photos and collects specimens and sends them to me at The Lighthouse via radio and mobile phone.
. I have never met him in person, the communication is only ever a one way monologue.
Never the less he has become a kind of distant collaborator to my work.
VHF DXing
I do not know the details of the ritual or really what took place. I do know from playing it to a few experts combined with my own knowledge of amateur radio, that Solomon was using forms of both shortwave and VHF ’DXing’. This is a method of amateur radio, transmitting and scanning for distant radio signals across the world. VHF Dxing is notoriously difficult and is very sensitive to atmosphere and weather conditions.
It uses Sporadic E ’clouds’ in the E-layer of the Ionsphere [clusters of ionized partials] 65 miles above, whos origins are still somewhat of a mystery but are believed to appear from thunderstorms and from the trail of meteors. The Dxer scans for ’openings’ in the atmosphere, these are transitory, only lasting moments. The idea is to transmit your signal through an opening, ’bouncing’ or ’skipping’ your signal off an Ionized cloud. This doubles the distance of the signal and can travel for thousands of miles across the world.
VHF dxing was thought to only be a summer activity due to the nature of sporadic E. However, a small peak during the flat winter months has been detected and occurs during Mid Winter, peaking at the Solstice. These openings are most likely in the early evening hours.. It’s as if this transitory phase between the death and rebirth of the winter sun, creates a faint and transitory door in its place for this one evening. Solomon is searching for these openings here.
The Es ’cloud’ must be at approximately the midpoint between the transmitter and receiver, far beyond the visible horizon. Sometimes the clouds remain fairly stationary, but usually they move at speeds up to several hundred miles per hour, more or less in a straight line. This means that one station after another will come in, with quite a lot of interference as they overlap.

THE LIVE STREAM
Solomon’s Ritual lasted around 30 mins, starting just before sundown. Sun down that day was at exactly 15.53 pm. Notice how a light comes on at exactly this time from inside Solomon’s camp.
You will notice also, that this video does not show the full ritual.
It felt wrong somehow to upload the full thing to me. It was an important and beautiful ceremony which belongs to the time and place it was performed. Watching the live stream from inside the Lighthouse, as the years Sun finally dies outside the window, is something that cant happen again. I didn’t feel it appropriate to give it all away. Especially as it is impossible to tell weather Solomon is actually aware he is being filmed. These cut-out sections I have kept as my own, to treasure and to study further.

CODE
Myself and some others have found layers upon layers of various codes falling in and out of the frequencies.
Though hard to decipher due to interference, some of the bleeps are Morse and Q codes which i have done my best to transcribe. There are other codes however, which are strange and do not bear any resemblance to usual patterns.
It is hard to know at this stage what was transmitted by Solomon and what was received by him. They are the following:

-This last sentence i have found in The Edda. It is used in ancient Danish Folklore telling of Odin’s secret Winter garden. Its doorway is said to be hidden in a cliff face but is impossible to find. Its is said that it is in full bloom during mid Winter and is beyond all beauty imaginable.
