‘Bathtubs and Desert Islands’ is inspired by my recent obsession with the ‘summer holiday’ and its mark on the calendar as a yearly means of mental and physical escape. During the making of this video I was intrigued by “found” stock film footage of families on holiday and beach scenes, which represent the ideal escape. Some of the found footage I was most drawn to features as a backdrop to my bathtub imaginations.
