Your film is about?
In this short film is enclosed sound, for example, the music can evoke a color and symbolizes a state of mind.
Try to think of all the times when watching a movie, or looking at a picture, listen to music, or simply listening to the calls of nature, something, without explanation, suddenly, he left you a strong feeling of joy, or the same time pain. Here, what is the "punctum".
A whiff of something that can transmit a slight vibration transform an apparent reality in a surreal situation.
In fact, most of the stimulus provided by the "punctum" wakes up more than one channel or perception. So, from this point of view it does not matter so much the fact, as it appears to an indifferent observer, but rather the enigmatic relationship that transcends it, a symbolic network, which encircle and dominate everything.
How did you start with film? And do you have an educational background in art or film?
I consider myself an autodidact of the seventh art. The most important notions I learned just watching movies. Then later I improved the technique by following courses and workshops.
"Punctum" is a short film made after studying in depth the seven arts.
I believe that cinema is the only art that can adequately express the experience of the technique and its effects on perception. Men, objects, nature, in the form of frames fast escape but their function is never uniform, but consists of points.
Could you explain how you work, what themes or concepts you use and what is important to you?
The idea is everything! In my video I have to adequately express the experience of the technique and its effects on perception. An artist has different media: painting, sculpture, music, I chose the video as a communication medium.
For me the most important thing is not to upset the viewer, but to make him believe in my mind, a journey, an experience that takes time during the narration.
How long do you usually work on one project?
First I have to figure out what I want to tell. Usually before I go in search of the location then, after getting an idea I try to play music, the sounds, the colors and finally the actors. These are very important, but must be in harmony with the landscape that I chose. Otherwise nothing happens.
Mainly not push it in the short fortunately I did not need much time because my stories are fragments. Small great emotions!
Do you carefully plan the production process or do you work more intuitive?
The intuition of work is often a priority for a videomaker, but often they need to know how to meet deadlines. With the experience I have learned that you have to be methodical, but does not have to be a rule, must also be able to experiment with new images.
How does the title relate to the work, and how do you find a fitting title?
Usually the title is the business card. Often, after writing the subject should be clear what the title. Is not at all an easy choice.
I personally believe that the title should reflect perfectly the message of the entire video. Is certainly not a negligible thing!
I happen very often read headlines inadequate and this just do not understand.
Where do you get your ideas or inspiration from?
What is the right idea for a story? O for a film? Honestly I never asked! Maybe because ideas come to me suddenly. As in Disney comics when the head of Archimedes shows the light. In practice happens.
How important is sound in film, and if you use sounds, do you create your own or use existing?
The sound, like music, is the soul of a video. There can be a video without sound or music. They serve as the air we breathe. The important thing is to listen and recognize the right sound for the video.
Luckily for me I met people who give soul to the music as Simone Cilio composer of "My Tv Heart" and largely "Punctum".
The cinema is a language that conveys so many things, good or bad, it does not matter, the music is a magical tool that accompanies the film.
How important is the reaction to your film by the audience?
The viewer is an observer lazy. Until now, too many things distract us and then we have less intention to turn the brain. Often "the viewer" is looking for a story or topic that can understand right away without much thought.
I think it"s more creative to make a compromise and be carried away by what we see and hear. Everything is a continuous search. I hope to leave something in the viewer a small thrill.
What is your next project about?
There are so many stories to tell, but first you need to figure out how you want to tell her. It would be wonderful if a film was conceived all at once. I am currently working on a video art "Inside" soon in 2015.
