Topo Walk: Cold Spring Harbor Hollow (single channel video), 2012, allows the viewer to take the place of my body passing through the landscape. What the eye scans passes above what the foot traces below. The image of sunlight filtered through a canopy of green leaves is punctured by fragments of urban night scenes capturing the way the mind displaces itself from its current location when remembering a distant landscape. Feet tread rhythmically on forest floor, then scramble down subway stairs-one location displaces the other in mind and body, then back again.
